Jack learns to give mama kisses

On this day, Jack's second Thanksgiving, Jack learned to give kisses when asked! And for this, I am very thankful!! And that I have such a happy and healthy little 1 year old! And such a fabulous husband :) Happy Thanksgiving 2013!

Jack had his 1st year check-up today! The doctor was impressed with Jack. Jack was not so impressed with 5 shots...but he was impressed with lollipops :)

Jack love meals...and how delicate Jack picks up each piece of food with his pointer and thumb! And then examines the food before eating! Eating can take awhile; he's a diner unlike his mama who eats too quickly .

Happy 1st Birthday, Jack!!!

We celebrated Jack's birthday today. Happy 1st Birthday. 

Loves: eating everything {cheese, especially parmesan, apple sauce, any meat, salmon, sweet potatoes (although he stopped loving avocado so much).
Loves: drinking water from mama's glass
Loves: being social! With anyone!! Although, he is becoming more and more of a mama's boy...and I      LOVE it!
Loves: getting off the couch and bed (by sliding off on his stomach). He is a master at the stairs (up and down).
Loves: entertaining himself with toys now.
Loves: rolling his arms, clapping.
Loves: hearing his name be called out. He'll turn and smile.
Loves: music
Loves: watching his music box/light shine on the ceiling while laying on mama, receiving a leg and tummy massage. Makes him drift off to sleep for the night!
Loves: biting mama on the arms or shoulder...with his 6 bright white teeth. 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. He got his 2nd two on top about 2 weeks ago!!
Loves: car rides! loves, loves his car seat. As soon as we start driving...he is often starting to snooze. Some of his longest naps have been in his car seat after a car ride!


I love it when he crawls away but pauses to ensure you are watching him.
I love that he is such a happy, social, loving, intrigued by everything little 1 year old!!!! I am blessed :)

Morning: Playtime followed by breakfast with oatmeal!

 He still loves, loves, loves his pointer fingers...for everything...picking up a yummy morsel, pointing to pictures in books, or reaching for toys!!

 New birthday toys: Dump truck, tent/tunnel and jeep bike

 Tried a new food today: Spaghetti!! and loved it

 ....And tried cake: and loved it!!! Blow out the candle and make a wish!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Jack!!

I sit writing this at 2:30 am! 1 minute after you were born just 1 short year ago!! Lately you have been sleeping through the night, occasionally letting out a cry but going back to sleep! So after I realized you weren't going back to sleep anytime soon, I saw it was 2:24!! 5 minutes until I had a 1 year old!! So, as i happily sit breastfeeding and rocking you, we get to be with each other as you turned one!! I already have so many fond memories of you this past year! I love you !:)

Jack is 11 months

Wow! One month away until Jack turns 1. Jack is growing fast! He is a master of the stairs; he'll quickly crawl to the top of the stairs, turn around and slide down them one at a time on his belly & knees. And he's so good and climbing them too. So up and down, down and up! He loves them. When on a couch, Jack turns correctly to slide himself off the couch. On our bed Jack will crawl to the edge, turn around and slide his legs off the bed, hanging and slide himself off. But, no walking yet. Just pulling himself to a standing position and walking along couches, etc. I know it will be here soon. 

Jack also has 4 teeth. The front top 2 are almost all the way in. The bottom front two are working their way in, about a mm showing! But super cute!

A couple days ago, Jack looked at me and said mama. Coincidence? Mama and dada are still his favorite words :)

Jack's favorite food? Everything! Chicken, turkey, steak, fruit! This past week, Jack was introduced to mozzarella and Parmesan- loves them both! It's fun to give our good eater food. He still uses his pointer finger to 'stab' his food, use his pinchers to pick it up and place the morsel in his mouth :) so fun!

Next big thing? Planning his 1st birthday party :)

Happy 30th Birthday Brandon

This weekend and today we celebrated Brandon's 30th birthday with friends and family. Poker with friends on Friday made us realize we need more game nights in our lives. Saturday, we had about 30 relatives over to help toast Brandon. Sunday, Brandon got to sleep in, watch the Hawks win with an amazing comeback. Finally, Monday was a day to hang out. Just the 3 of us! And to celebrate his 30th, Brandon got to open 30 gifts from Jack and me. One of which was Fischer's Scone Mix, which were promptly made and eaten while warm with butter and seedless raspberry jam. Happy Birthday Brandon! Love you!! 

P.S. Jack has a little chomper peeking through on the bottom front left. This makes 3! And, Jack crawls up the stairs very quickly...and when going down the stairs, turns around at the top, and slides down correctly on his stomach, one stair at a time. jack has also learned to turn around and get off the couch by sliding feet first on his stomach! What a fast learner!!!!
