The Breast Cancer 3 Day
A 60 mile walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure
September 24, 25, 25, 2010
This was our 4th year participating in the 3 Day Walk: a 60 mile walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. It is such a rewarding experience. We walk 20 mile each of the 3 days. Although it is tiresome, I will never forget the rewards. Since 2007, I have walked in memory of my aunt Carolyn and in honor of my mother-in-law Nancy. Like the 3 Day, I believe in a world without breast cancer. Everyone 'deserves a lifetime'. Here's to you aunt Carolyn, may you rest in peace!!

Opening ceremony!
A huge motivation factor is the show of support from the communities where our walk takes us! The clapping, poster making, dessert eating, decorations, tears all make me realize how important this cause is! It also makes me determined to finish the walk each year!!! Thank you to the hundreds of people who come out and support the thousands of 3 Day walkers, rain or shine!!!
Below our some pictures from this amazing journey!!

We're almost there: we can see the Space Needle, but it still seems so far ahead. That last 59th and 60th miles are killer!

Taking a break!!
And...we reached the finish line!!! Thanks to a great 4th year walking!
