Labor Day Weekend

This labor day I met up with some girls from work for a few hours on the Columbia River!! A great weekend was had! My parents, Christine and Tom met us for the weekend as well!

Happy Birthday Jill!
Goodbye Karen, James and Olivia!
September 8, 2010

My best friend Karen and her two kids moved to California to join her husband. He just got a new job; their move is a trial 6 month basis to see how it will work out. We will miss them!
Here are a few pics from Jill's birthday and Karen, James and Olivia's last night as Washingtonians!

Little Miss Olivia!

James really wanted his nails done, was I suppose to say no?
Look how excited he was!

Happy Birthday Jill!
Karen, I will miss you and your cute little family!
Kendall Katwalk
Roundtrip 12 miles, elevation gain 2700 ft, highest point 5400 ft
September 2, 2010

Annie Rose, Keja and I hiked to Kendall Katwalk! It was a very pretty hike that got pretty narrow and steep in some areas!! The views were amazing and the weather was perfect. After walking over Kendall Katwalk we plunked ourselves down for our picnic lunch, complete with chips, of course!!! Thanks Annie Rose and Keja for making this last hike so great!!! Next up: snowshoeing?!?!

I can still feel the cool crisp air, not yet touched by the morning air!

Mt. Rainier on a clear day never ceases to amaze me!

Red Mountain looks more impressive looking at it straight on from the Snoqualmie Summit parking lot! I didn't realize it was missing a back side!

The view before crossing Kendall Katwalk!
Kendall Katwalk to my back!
And here is the Katwalk!

Excited for next year!!

Later that night, Brandon and I, with Karen and Chase went to Jazz Alley. Karen and I both bought dinner and admission tickets at my Breast Cancer Auction held back in July! It was great to eat dinner with good company then listen to jazz music; music I enjoy, but don't often hear!

Stuart Lake
Roundtrip 10 miles, elevation gain 1665 ft, highest point 5065 ft
August 24, 2010
I wanted to post my hike to Stuart Lake because this was when I was most excited about hiking. I really thought I was going to finish the season completing the 18 miles day hike through the Enchantments. I wanted to get my feet 'wet' with this practice hike so I dragged my family and Brandon over for a quick 2 day stay in Leavenworth! The weather was beautiful. My family was great, even making the hike seem easy!

1st glimpse of Mount Stuart and the lake nestled at the bottom!! Almost there!

The beach where we relaxed and ate our picnic lunch!

Brandon and I took a quick dive into the icy cold water!

Heading back down!

The clear water of Mountaineer Creek!

Stretching out! We're done!

The next day we contemplated hiking the 8 Mile Lake trail but instead chose to walk around the town of Leavenworth and walk along the Wenatchee Riverfront Park. We also shopped at the Cheesemonger's shop and tasted a variety of fantastic cheeses. Lunch this day consisted of a loaf of great bread, 4 unique, aged cheeses and some different salamis!! Yumm, and we didn't even feel badly about the caloric content!
